We are doctrinally
orthodox, which is to say we share the faith of Christians from
around the world and throughout time that has found expression in
such documents as the
Apostles'
and
Nicene Creeds.
The rest of this page describes some of the particulars of what this
means. Below you will discover our
Essential Beliefs,
Mission,
Vision, and
Values
that describe the essential marks of a person moving towards NEW LIFE in Jesus Christ.
The Trinity We believe in one God who alone
is to be worshipped, who rules the universe and created everything.
He has revealed Himself as one God in three persons: Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit. God the Father We believe in God the Father:
Holy, Almighty and loving, perfect in wisdom, power, and love, the
first Person of the Holy Trinity. God the Father concerns Himself
mercifully in the affairs of people, hearing and answering prayer,
saving from sin and death all who come to Him in repentance and
faith through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ We believe in God the Son, our
Lord Jesus Christ, who was sent into the world by the Father's
love, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He
was crucified for our sins and raised from the dead by the power of
God. He now sits at the Father's right hand praying and advocating
for His Church. He will return to judge everyone on earth. Then
every knee will bow before Him in honor, and everyone will recognize
the eternal truth that Jesus always has been, is now, and always
will be, Lord. The Holy Spirit We believe in God the Holy
Spirit, one with the Father and Son, who inspired the Scriptures,
who by His grace brings to new spiritual birth all who believe in
Jesus through repentance, who lives in them as a guarantee of
eternal life, empowers them for holy living and loving
relationships, and distributes to them gifts of power for service
and ministry. Salvation We believe that human beings were
created in God's image, but were alienated from God because of sin
and now live in a fallen and broken world. Unable to restore the
broken relationship ourselves, in His love and mercy, God, through
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, restores those who believe and
repent, giving them new birth, a new identity, a new nature, and a
new life. Future Destiny We believe God brings all His
newborn children into His family, the Church. This eternal body is
revealed in the local church wherever God's people gather for
worship, teaching, community, and service around His Word. As Lord
of His Church, Jesus directs us to tell everyone about Him, so that
they, too, might believe in and follow Him, and be saved from a
Christless eternity. One day the Lord will come and gather His
Church to be with Him in heaven's glory forever. The Church We believe that the Church is the
body of Jesus on earth and God's family. Through these family
relationships, God utilizes His Spirit to promote unity, to cause
healing, to exercise His gifts, and to mobilize a great army of
Christ-followers who join with Him in the fight against evil,
demonic powers of darkness at work both in our world here and in the
heavenly places. The Bible We believe in the Bible as God's inspired, eternal, and relevant Word to all people in every time and place. In it God reveals the truth, which we believe and commit to follow in all areas of life. The Bible is completely trustworthy and our authoritative guide for conduct as individuals, as families, and as the Church of Jesus Christ. Our Mission
Helping wounded people find new life in Jesus Christ.
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10, NIV)
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:4, NIV)
Our Vision
Developing a multi-cultural community of Christ followers to take His gift of life to the ends of the earth.
Jesus: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20, NIV
Our Values
L – Loving
Loving God and each other through personal relationship
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:16, 21; NIV)
I – Intentional
Committed to hope-filled life-change through small groups and mentoring
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. (2 Thessalonians 216-17, NIV)(Romans 5:5, Romans 15:13, Ephesians 1:18-19)
F – Faithful
Growing in understanding and fulfilling God’s will for our lives
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2, NIV)
E – Empowered
Developing spiritual gifts and talents to share Christ’s gift of life to the ends of the earth
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12:4-5, NIV)
